Very welcome to the challenge.
The stimation of the UNFPA for 2003 the world adolescent population between 10 and 19 years old was aproximately 1,200 millons of persons, that was 19% of the total world population. There are 3 millons of persons under 25 years old and 85 % lived in poor countries. Half of this population are woman.
Each year 14 millons of adolescents have babies and they have 2 to 5 times more risk to die during pregnancy or delivery than women of 20 to 30 years old.
Almost 25 % of people with VIH have 25 years old or less and each day, 6,000 young people are infected with the HIV. Actually, 1/3 of the infected with HIV are between 15 to 24 years old and very few of them, know about of their positive serology.
The median age of initiation of sexuality is earlier in developed countries than developing ones, but with higher contraceptive use than developing countries, where the ages of initiation is earlier among the poor people with very low rates of contraceptive use.
